Sewing Group
The St. Rita Sewing Group has been asked to make baby quilts, knitted, crocheted or fabric for the new Sacred Heart Hospital Maternity Wing and Nursery which will open in the Fall.  We have the supplies if you would like to work on a quilt at home.  If you can help, please join us on Wednesdays at 9:00 am in the Mary Star of the Sea Room.

   Sacred Heart Hospital Maternity Wing and Nursery


Fun, fellowship, creativity and hands raised in service to their fellowman are the hallmarks of the Saint Ann Guild. This guild meets every Wednesday morning from 9:15-12:00 in Mary Star of the Sea Room.

The group creates stuffed toys for the ER at Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin; knit and crochet hats for Pre-mature babies in the neo-natal intensive care unit at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

The ladies also fashion special hats & toys for children with catastrophic illnesses visiting Camp Sunshine and for the Barbara Bush Hospital both of which are in Maine.

The State of Florida Veteran’s Hospital in Lakeland, Florida receives throw blankets, lap robes, wheel chair bags, walker bags, and ditty bags.

The sewing group has also tied hundreds of Rosaries for military servicemen and servicewomen and for donation to missions around the world, most recently in Ecuador and South Africa.

Sewing Group Needs Help

If you can sew, stuff or are just flexible and can learn some new tricks, the Wednesday Sewing Group needs you .

   

The Group Makes soft toys for children (which are given to several different hospital emergency rooms) lap robes wheelchair bags, and rosaries. the Group meets in the 'Mary Star of the Sea' meeting room Wednesday's from 9:00am to noon. Summer  break right now, however the meetings will resume wednesday August 16.
