Photography and Flowers
Flowers Flowers are never placed on the
altar itself. One should also be mindful of clear passage for
movement at all times. No live or silk flower petals may be
dropped in the church, unless there is a person clearly designated
beforehand who will be responsible for the cleanup.
The florist should plan to bring all
necessary stands, containers and equipment as St. Rita does not have
these available. Your floral
designer will need to contact the parish office to make arrangements
for the delivery of your flowers as the church is not always
unlocked.
Candelabra
Couples must provide their own candles and candelabra if used in the
ceremony. Candles are never placed on the altar itself. If the
candles are not dripless, plastic must be placed under all
candelabra so that the falling wax will not get on the floor.
Photographs Photos in moderation are permitted during the ceremony. Pictures may
be taken before and or after the ceremony, mindful that there may be
time limitations as other services take place in the church. Remember that the photographer is working for you, not vice versa. Photographers will keep you as long as possible for that means you
might buy more of their photos. If you need to leave to get to the
reception, then tell the photographer so.
Video taping is
permitted but must be discussed with the priest in advance.
In keeping with the religious nature of the ceremony, photographers
or videographers are expected to be unobtrusive and professional.
Under no circumstances are photographers or videographers to
be on the raised altar area before, during, or after the ceremony.
However, the wedding party and family members and friends may be
posed in front of the altar before or after the service. Be mindful
that there may be time limitations for your pictures as other
services may precede or follow your wedding.
