February 2012 Ministry Schedule

Ushers

Ministers of Hospitality welcome and care for all people in God’s House. They are often the first persons to greet a newcomer and display the capacity for welcoming strangers the way they welcome friends into their own homes--a true gift. Their heart sees the face of Christ in each person, for we are all God’s children. Their greeting at the door is Christ‘s greeting: “Welcome home! Be at Peace! Come, Follow Me!”

Hospitality ministers are communicators & organizers: answering questions, sharing directions, handling emergencies, and quietly maintaining the reverent prayerfulness of the Mass.

Specific functions include:
• Finding gift bearers before the Mass begins
• Seating people as they arrive
• Actively participating in the Mass
• Distributing gift baskets
• Identifying people who need Communion brought to
   them
• Organizing the Communion procession
• Distributing bulletins
