Our Parish

Pastoral Council

A group of 10 elected and 3 appointed lay members of the Parish who, with the Pastor, clergy and staff, carry forward the mission and ministry of Christ and his Church in the parish community. It is a consultative body governed by its constitution in accordance with diocesan policies that makes recommendations to the Pastor regarding the life and mission of the parish. As such, it encourages a network of communication within the parish and surrounding community and serves as a forum for dialogue among the parishioners, the Pastor, the clergy, and staff.

Lisa Burns
Elected at Large (Second term ends July 2010)

Lisa Burns is teaching 4^th grade at Bay Elementary in Point Washington. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Georgia and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University. She and her husband Roy have lived in Inlet Beach since 1988. They have watched St. Rita's grow from the small little church on Hwy 98 to the wonderful family community of today. They are proud parents of two children, Katie and Brenden. Lisa's parents, Tony and Dee Logue, are also members of St. Rita's retiring here from Atlanta. Lisa has worked as a religious education teacher for many years and helped form the first Children's Liturgy of the Word program and first RE classes at St. Rita's. Today, Lisa is a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Confirmation class instructor.

Ken Borick

Elected at Large (Third term ends July 2010).

Ken Borick is currently employed as Vice President of Operations – NW Florida for The St. Joe Company where he performs a variety of work related to developing and operating communities such as WaterColor and WaterSound. Ken previously spent five years as Legal Counsel for The St. Joe Company. Prior to St. Joe, Ken spent seven years with The Walt Disney Company in Orlando working on various Disney real estate projects. Ken also spent over five years in the private practice of law in Hilton Head Island, SC. Ken obtained a Jurist Doctorate degree (cum laude) from Wake Forest University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Clemson University. Ken and his wife Laurie have been members of St. Rita's parish for five years are the proud parents of four children - Reagan, Ellie, Jay and Luke. Parish

Tristen LaNasa

(Appointed Position) First term will end July 2011

Youth Group
Tristan is currently a student of South Walton High School in the class of 2011. Born in New Orleans, his family moved to Miramar Beach after Hurricane Katrina. He is involved with many school athletics, plays golf, Boy Scouts, and very active with St. Rita youth group. Tristan has many career aspirations, and intends on going to the University of Florida.

Felita Asteinza

Liturgical Ministries (Second term ends July 2010)

Felita Asteinza is a Spanish teacher at South Walton High School. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Americas in Mexico City, Mexico and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University. Felita has over 20 years experience as a religious education catechist. Felita and her husband Jerry moved to St. Rita Parish in August, 2003. They have a daughter Felici, a junior at Florida State University, and a son Jerry Michael. Felita has served more than 20 years as a CCD teacher. She is the coordinator of the St. Rita Centering Prayer Group, serves as a lector, Eucharistic minister, sacristan, and mass coordinator for Sunday liturgies and if that’s not enough she is also a member of the St.Rita prayer group.

Joe Colello, Jr.

Men’s Club (Third term ends July 2010)

Joe is a retired 25 year Army Officer who also worked for Hallmark Cards for 18 years, completed his second career as Human Resource Director for Hallmark International. He and his wife Lyn have two married daughters and three grandchildren. Joe and Lyn joined St. Rita in 1997 when they retired . Joe serves as a Lector, Eucharistic minister, past President of the St. Rita's Men's Club and Joe is a 4th Degree Knight. Joe's passions include fishing, woodworking, cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Dave Delahoussaye

Elected at Large (Third term ends July 2011)

Dave is the son of Thomas and Lois Delahoussaye. He was born February 23 1953 in Lafayette Louisiana. Attended Southwestern Louisiana University there he studied Interior Architecture. Dave worked for the Hilton Corporation for 18 years in Lake Charles and New Orleans La. He moved to Destin in 1989, married is wife Linda in October of 94. They have a son James Patrick. Dave started up a carpentry and woodworking business and is now self employed. He joined St. Rita's Parish in 1995 and serves as a Perish Council Member, lector, Eucharistic minister, and Sacristan, and also participates in the choir. In his free time he enjoys motorcycling.

Jim Kelly
Council President
Third term will end July 2010

Jim has been a parishioner at St.Rita since 1999. Graduated St.Ignatius Loyola, Chicago, Ill. He has been involved with the automotive aftermarket since the early 60's. He sold his company, Custom Wheels - American Racing, in 1988 stayed on for 8 years to run it. He fully retired in 2000 and now has time to spend with his wife, three children and 12 grand children and 2 great grandchild. Jim has been active with the disaster recovery team of St.Rita, Knights of Columbus and from time to time is able to help his wife Mary with her duties with St.Vincent de Paul Society.

Deanna O'Hare

(Appointed Position) First term will end July 2011

Deanna is a cradle Catholic, she spent 12 years in Catholic schools. She has been married to her husband Tom for 44 years and have had 4 children and now 4 grand kids. Deanna has been a St.Rita catechist for 12 years for ages 3 – 10 yrs old. Deanna is president of CCW and holds a seat on the Parish Council. Her passion for St. Rita Parish ministries is quite evident!

Shonda Trantina

Appointed Position
(Second term ends July 2010)

Shonda received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Central Arkansas in 1992. After completing college, she married Jeremy Trantina and they have two sons, Mitchell and Mason. In Arkansas, she was manager over the Statutory Reporting department at Blue Cross Blue Shield where she had been employed for 10 years. Jeremy and Shonda moved their family to Santa Rosa Beach in 2004. She was employed by St Joe as the Assistant Controller for the HOA and Resort operations. She currently works part-time with McDaniel & Associates PC, specializing in homeowner and condominium associations.

Bill Linder
Appointed Position
(first term ends July 2010)

Bill Linder was born in Minnesota and there he spent his formative years. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1964 with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Bill was an executive in the Marine Petroleum Industry for 17 years and then started several of his own companies, continuing to work within the industry. He and his wife of 43 years, Kathy have three children, Shannon, Scott and Brian all of whom are married and have given Bill and Kathy 7 grand children. Bill and Kathy now live in Santa Rosa Beach where they are very active members here at St. Rita.
