v     Selection: Goal 4/Objective 2 - Habitat for Humanity house from St. Rita           Deacon Dave explains how the Habitat for Humanity foundation works
and how much money it takes to build a home. He also discussed other
local churches who are participating in the HFH program. HFH program
       is currently lacking in funds.

b.      Discussion of members in parish who are currently working with HFH; once the committee is established, allowing the committee to come up with decision whether they want to volunteer for the local HFH (minimum level) to sponsoring it’s own house (maximum level). Committee to decide how to come up with resources.

v     Selection: Goal 5/Objective 1 - Week long mission

1.      Discussion of the agenda of a week long mission at St. Rita

2.      Need plenty of time to line up speaker and plan

v     Selection: Goal 6/Objective 1 - New parish directory

§         Father Tom discussed land development around the church and the new development
of the availability of property to the south of our current building.

v     Current plan is to build new building and gym on current land next to
       church

v     Land owner of 10 acre track south of the church property (and next to
Helen McCall Park) recently contacted Matt Savoie about selling the
property. He claims he would need to net 1.6 million.

v     Discussion: a benefit to our church to purchase the additional 10 acres.
Plenty of room to expand - possibility of a school; with our current 10
acres we could build school, offices, gym.

v     Discussion about current pledges, need for new loan to purchase
additional land; would place new buildings on back track for a longer
time; financial model would need to be established by finance committee

v     Entire council agreed that the long term investment to purchase the land
would be a good decision – church should pursue the purchase

§         Discussion of vandals who are currently getting out of jail: First vandal is
getting out of jail. He is to pay $84,000 of restitution. He can stay out of jail as
long as he is paying on the account but he will be working a minimum wage job.

§         Father Tom suggested that while he is out on probation to ask for $100-$150
month payment and community service. Council concurred.
