The Saint Rita Council of Catholic Women is the local affiliate of the National, State, and Diocesan Councils of Catholic Women and is assigned to the West Central Deanery. Its goal is to unite the Women of St. Rita Parish in purpose, direction, and action. The CCW has three primary objectives:

 serving the parish and local community
 development of the spiritual life of its members
 supporting the Deanery and the Diocese.

Members act upon current issues in the Catholic Church, parish, community and family life. The Council of Catholic Women is composed of individual Guilds, which concentrate on specific areas of need.

Meetings are held monthly on the 3^rd Thursday in the Mary Star of the Sea Room at 7:00 PM. All women  of the Parish are welcome to attend.

                              CCW HELPS

CCW is having a drive to collect long sleeve shirts for the farm worker in the Quincy area.  The shirts help to protect them from insecticides and insects.  Needed are shirts for men, women and children.  The shirts do not need to be new.  Donations may be left in the box in the Mary Star of the Sea Room. 

What is the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW)?  NCCW is a nation-wide federation of Catholic Women and their organizations ESTABLISHED in 1920 AT THE REQUEST OF THE BISHOPS of the United States.  Composed of Affiliated Parishes, Deanery, Diocesan and State Organizations.  It is women working together through national programs (Commissions), which reflect current issues in the Church and society.  NCCW supports, empowers and educates its members in spirituality, leadership, and service by responding with gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.  For more information, please visit NCCW on the web at www.nccw.org     11/09/06
 

            CCW 2011 Luncheons

            1^ST CCW Luncheon 2011-2012
                  Chan’s Wine World at 30A

We had a wonderful time at our 1^st CCW Luncheon at Chan’s Wine World at 30A on October 11^th at 11:30.  The following 12 parishioners participated in the fantastic luncheon:  Gloria Clayton, Anna Fowler, Maria-Rose Gouin, Alice A. Hiersche, Pat Lawrence, Dee Logue, Lou Mahan, Deanna O'Hare, Teresa O'Neal, Liz Skalicky, Ethel Sproul, & Grace Stokes. Anna Fowler won a $10.00 Certificate towards her lunch at Chan's Wine World at 30A.

              2^nd CCW Luncheon 2011-2012
 TJ’s Restaurant in Freeport on Highway 20 West

 A super time by all who participated in our 2^nd CCW Luncheon at TJ’s Restaurant in Freeport on Highway 20 West on November 8^th at 11:30.  We had the following 14 parishioners participate in the super-duper fantastic luncheon:  Helen Barnhart, Pat Borella, Gloria Clayton, Anna Fowler, Jackie Francis, Maria-Rose Gouin, Alice A. Hiersche, Pat Lawrence, Lou Mahan, Lorraine Maioriello, Betty Murphy, Deanna O'Hare, Grace Stokes, & Catherine Vaughn. Betty Murphy won the $10.00 Certificate towards her lunch at TJ’s Restaurant.  Our next luncheon will be at Longhorn Steakhouse Highway 98 in Destin on December 6^th at 11:30.

What a ball fantastic time we had by all who participated in our 3^rd CCW Luncheon at Longhorn Steakhouse in Destin on Highway 98 on December 6^th at 11:30.  We had the following 23 parishioners participate in the incredible luncheon:  Denise Allard, Pat Borella, Gloria Clayton, Arla Dangle, Sally Drobnick, Anne Ferguson, Anna Fowler, Jackie Francis, Barbara Germano, Maria-Rose Gouin, Virjean Harstvedt, Alice A. Hiersche, Brigid Iannuzzi, Pat Lawrence, Dee Logue, Lou Mahan, Betty Miller, Betty Murphy, Deanna O'Hare, Liz Skalicky, Ethel Sproul, Grace Stokes, & Cecilia Varino. Instead of having a $10.00 Certificate for one Parishioner to win, The CCW paid everyone’s lunch taxes, gratuity, plus EVERYONE who paid their CCW dues received $10.00 towards their lunch.  Also, everyone received $1.50 towards their lunch, thanks to the parishioners who brought in lots of coupons from newspapers.  As you can see we’ve grown…… from 12 to 23 parishioners attending our luncheons.  Our next luncheon will be at The Vue on 30a in Santa Rosa Beach on January 10^th at 11:30.  Anyone interested in joining the CCW Luncheon, please contact Lu Mahan at the Parish Office 850-267-2558  Who knows… you might be next to win the $10.00 Certificate towards your lunch.
